Collecting Prescriptions

We process around 2000 prescriptions per month and the accuracy and safety of prescribing is of paramount importance.  Our staff are trained to check that what you are ordering is due to be issued and that you are compliant with your treatment before producing your prescription.  Our GPs review all prescriptions before signing them.  Our staff can then collate the signed prescriptions ready for collection by our patients' appointed pharmacy; these processes take time.

Please allow three full working days between ordering your prescription and trying to collect it from the pharmacy.

We ask that patients take responsibility for ordering their medication in good time and if allowing three working days there is no need to telephone the surgery or the pharmacy to ask if it is ready.

We will endeavour to fulfil urgent requests if, for example, you have inadvertently run out of your medication.  However we will not accept urgent requests from patients who repeatedly request medication in this manner.
